Spring Musings | Portland Photographer

Spring musings

I walk the banks, forlorn,
Shadowed by draping leaves.
Above the floor rises an entire sea,
Thrashing down to below.

Engulfed in silent noise I sit,
Recalling the memory of your face.
Your eyes shown like the depths of the waters break,
Clear with the sparkle of sunlight’s gleam.
My hands remember trailing your back.
Smooth rises and falls like that of meadows crest.

The heat of the sun guides my feet,
Leading me to an unknown source.
Leaves rich in color, wave to and fro,
to the symphony of nature’s breath.
I sigh in eternal longing of your gaze,
Wishing for transformation from this place.

Flowers spring forth from dark depths,
Reminding me of the hope abiding in my soul.
For which I strive toward with my every breath,
Striving for yet another moment to drink in your gaze.
