...I sit, starring into the abyss of water falling heavily outside my window. The tress bend low under the weight of thick water droplets, clinging to every vein and wrinkle along branches of leaves. Fall eagerly makes its way across the Pacific Northwest with a violence only rain can bring. Pitter patter of falling water envelopes me in a harmony that only rain can, and I am transcended to a place of peace. Amongst the noise, a silence befalls my thoughts and I am swept up in a moment of pure delight as beautiful creation is all that I can see. My mind wanders from thought to thought, taking it all in. The rain reminds me of all things "becoming new". It reminds me of the past and how incredible the future looks. I am so thankful for moments like these. The ebb and flow of life slowly creeps back in, but always, I can treasure moments like these.
Take time today to breathe... to really look around you. God's amazing glory and creation never ceases to amaze me, and in moments where we can pause and just "breathe", we truly can catch a glimpse of His majesty.
